Toilet Review 2- The Miraflores Mirror (Lima, Peru)
Summary - This was crucial. This was our first toilet experience of the whole entire trip. One nasty bathroom or a couple of clogs and it could have sent us right back to Des Moines, Iowa. Luckily the bathroom we have coined “The Miraflores Mirror” got a passing grade.
Ambiance - It’s a small studio apartment on a busy street, so it’s not the most relaxing atmosphere between the noise and also your significant other being like 10 feet away. But it’s a decent size with plenty of cleaning supplies (as you can see behind the toilet) should things get out of hand.
Cleanliness - Honestly, no complaints in this department which is good considering it’s an AirBnb.
View - This is where things get a little dicey. There are some glass squares that you stare straight at while sitting down (or your butt does if standing up). On the other side of these glass squares is the hallway. We think that they are distorted enough to not invite any curious apartment tenants but the threat is still looming.
Toilet Paper Situation - There is a large industrial size toilet paper dispenser to the right of the toilet. Single ply, but that’s to be expected. There’s no way we are running out unless we run into some seriously problematic cuisine.
Privacy/Safety - Below is the sign on the door to the bathroom. At first we didn’t know if this meant that other people would just be walking in to use our toilet or what was going on, but we believe this was posted because of the glass leading to the hallway. Regardless, this didn’t instill a lot of confidence.
Overall Review - The security sign and the hallway glass hurt this toilet rating for sure.
