How Much Did Laos Cost?

Laos was our second country within southeast Asia and supposedly the cheapest. Looking at our cost breakdown I would say that’s accurate because I don’t foresee too many places being more affordable. Just like Thailand, we didn’t cook a single meal for ourselves and the one advantage in Laos was having free breakfast every day/place we stayed. We are not huge breakfast people but if it’s free then might as well take advantage and fill up. Here is the cost breakdown for Laos.

The biggest takeaway here is that food and lodging both came in around $25/per day. When costs are that low on the necessities then it’s so much more doable to do things like ziplining. I think the other fascinating thing (post to come later) is just how more thrifty than us, someone could be over here. We are staying in private rooms with nice amenities for $25/night. Just think if you were ok staying in hostel dorm rooms.
