Bulgaria is one of the cheapest countries in Europe and our cost sheet reflects that. This was by far the longest we have been in a place while spending the least amount of money. Check out our spending in Bulgaria for 14 days.
Lodging once again was absurdly low. One important thing to mention would be that not only was the cost low, but the places we were staying in were bigger and nicer than any place we have stayed thus far. There’s not a whole bunch to do in regards to activities so that cost is very low compared to other countries. However, the biggest money saver was on food/drinks. That number will often times exceed our lodging costs but we cooked a majority of meals at home and when we did go out for a meal, it was very affordable. Lastly, we don’t talk about transportation much but considering we went to 4 different cities and used public transportation while in those cities, $65 is fantastic.
In all honesty we were not intentionally trying to save money and didn’t do anything that radically different, but that’s just how cheap Bulgaria can be.
