The Zimmerpeople blog is back for another adventure. We got some really nice compliments about our blogging while in New Zealand so we’ve decided to give the people what they want, another trip. This time we will be going to Paris and Switzerland (Bern and Lucerne to be exact). Why those places you might be asking? We wanted to go to Europe so we looked for the cheapest flights possible and Chicago to Paris was the winner. Once we knew we were landing in Paris, we had to decide on the route we would take. While going west to England was intriguing, we thought that almost deserves its own trip. Caitlin studied and lived for awhile in Spain (South), and I have been to Germany and Amsterdam (North and Northwest) so that left us with going East to Switzerland and the pictures on Google cemented that decision.
This trip will be interesting and hopefully that is properly reflected in the blog. Caitlin is more of a go with the flow, “embrace the chaos” type person and I take after my mother as being a very detailed planner. I planned every single day in New Zealand almost down to the hour and I enjoyed it. This trip was much more spontaneous and there were events leading up to it (like me starting a new job) that we most definitely did not plan for, and obviously took time away from planning. However, we have the places we are going to be staying (one Airbnb is literally in a cave in Switzerland) and the signature rental car is booked, so what else do we need right now? Right?! RIGHT?! Okay, I may be freaking out a little bit.
Not having everything planned down to the hour should hopefully provide for more random discoveries and experiences which we will try to highlight more than pictures of the Eiffel Tower. Thanks for following, and we’ll be back in a few days from Paris!
