Highlights - You literally can’t go wrong with anywhere on this coast in terms of beauty. Hiking at Plitvice, walking along the city walls of Dubrovnik, feeling like a local in Zadar, and hiking to a lookout hill in Split were our scenic highlights.

Summary - We still can’t believe the lack of tourists in all of these cities. We are traveling for a long time so not having beach activities didn’t bother us. But if you only have a couple of weeks and are expecting these places to be a lively beach destination then make sure you come during the summer months. We have heard that during summer it can be a bit overwhelming though.

Suggestions - Stay outside of the main area in Dubrovnik and Split. You will save loads of money and will still have a very short walk to main area. Don’t let “winter” deter you from any of these places just be prepared for a very relaxed atmosphere and flexible hours at shops and restaurants.
