Highlights - The easy answer is Machu Picchu because it will take your breath away no matter how many pictures you see. Our favorite cities were Arequipa, Lima, and Cusco just because there was so much history and so much to do.
Summary - What a wonderful country. Peru Hop has made it so easy to get around and see all of the highlights. We personally enjoyed the larger cities probably because we stayed there longer and there was never a lack of anything to do. Some of the smaller towns are great but 1 day would have been sufficient.
Suggestions - Like we said above, use Peru Hop. We have always been big on just renting a car and figuring things out ourselves but Peru Hop was a savior. It got us from place to place, set up excursions we wouldn’t have done otherwise, introduced us to some awesome people, and was affordable.
We had one day in Puno and we spent it by going to the floating islands on Lake Titicaca.
Cusco was an awesome city with enough to keep you busy for at least a few days.
If you want to go to Bolivia and have a USA passport, prepare for a few hoops!
It was a long few days but here are some of the highlights of Huacachina and Paracus.
I spent the entirety of two days in here so it deserves a proper review!
